Nayara Hotel Spa & Gardens...
One of Costa Rica's Finest Resorts

Driving through La Fortuna, nearing the base of the Arenal Volcano - and up to the Nayara Hotel Spa & Gardens... we were both pretty excited to arrive.

Reading up ahead of time...

We'd learned about some of the awards it had won - those like "#1 Resort in Central America" and "#6 Hotel in the World", from Travel + Leisure - and "Most Romantic Hotel in Central and South America", from Trip Advisor.

Best of all...

We were all set to stay in one of the nicest accommodations on the premises, Suite 35 - the very same spot where winning couples would spend the night, on NBC's reality TV show...

Love in the Wild.

...

A visit to yet another, beautiful one-of-a-kind getaway here on the Rich Coast - please read on for a firsthand look, at one of the finest resorts in Costa Rica, Central & South America...

And the world!

A Beautiful Place in Costa Rica

Just west of La Fortuna, nearing the base of the area's main attraction - the Arenal Volcano... we took a right off highway 142 - making our way up, to the Nayara Hotel Spa & Gardens.

Enjoying Welcome Drinks at Nayara
A Warm Welcome at Nayara Resort

And just as you might expect, from a place being called...

  • Number 1 Resort...

  • Number 1 Hotel Spa...

    And also...

  • Most Romantic...

In all of Central and South America (and even the world!)...

We were greeted and treated by staff, the moment we pulled up - and presented with two delicious welcoming drinks.

...

Into the main reception area - very front of the grounds, and first impression...

Inside the Main Building at Nayara

The place was immaculate.

Of course, given everything we'd heard prior to our visit... it'd be difficult to be surprised.

...

All checked in, next - we climbed aboard a golf cart shuttle - heading towards our room.

Along the path - one flanked either side, by some of the most beautiful looking and smelling, vegetation...

There was once species - vibrant red and yellow, in color...

That continued to catch our eye.

...

Native to Central America, it was interesting to learn how these heliconia plants - something that along with the likes of tree frogs, toucans, and oxcarts...

...one of the most significant and easily recognizable symbols of Costa Rica...

Birds of Paradise Plant
Strelitzia

Are a prime target for hummingbirds - feeding on the nectar from its flowers, which help it to pollinate.

...

Something else...

The heliconia is sometimes mistaken for a similar variety of plant - the "Birds of Paradise" or Strelitzia - one indigenous to Africa.

Because of this, Heliconia can also be referred to as "False" Birds of Paradise.

...

Well eventually, having reached one of the highest points on the property - we were parked just outside the nicest accommodation at Nayara Hotel Spa & Gardens...

Suite 35

Pulling in front of Suite 35 - furthest point on the grounds, from the main entrance - we couldn't wait to take a peek inside, what had been called one of the nicest hotel rooms, anywhere.

Through the front door, and WOW...

The Amazing Bathroom in Our Suite at the Nayara Resort
A Look Inside Suite 35 at Nayara

Nothing short of gorgeous!

Ever so spacious, with a nice high dome-like ceiling - its circular interior divided into two separate areas.

The Bed in Suite 35 at Nayara
The Bed Looks Directly Out to the Volcano

The back - as seen in the photo above...

Is constructed so that two people, each have their very own "bathroom station" - sink, mirrors, towels, toiletries...

And more.

Then, in the very middle - are two shower areas...

One inside - built for two people (you can see the glass box in the center)...

And the other outside, an area accented with a selection of tropical plants.

...

Over to the front of the suite, and it was more of the very best.

The Towel Dog
A Dog-Like Towel Sculpture

Beautiful king-size bed.

Dining area.

Flat-screen TV.

Actually, one thing I really should mention - was the 'towel sculpture' of a dog, positioned right in the middle of the bed.

What funny, unique touch - to a place that already, was pretty much perfect!

And yes - speaking of perfect...

In front was a large deck area - complete with lounge chairs, a small table for two, hammock, and by far - our favorite part of all...

The Patio, Complete with Hammock and Hot Tub
The Patio, Complete with Hammock and Hot Tub!

A hot tub!

...

Impossible not to say it - this place...

IS AWESOME.

Sushi Amor

All settled in to one of the nicest hotel rooms in all of Central America, next up - we made our way down to the pool area, same place to find the Kali Kali Wet Bar, Nostalgia Wine Bar...

And the restaurant where we'd be dining out...

And yes - what a great little spot this was, an incredible atmosphere with its bright, fun colors... excellent music, and as we discovered for ourselves...

Eating at the Nayara Resort
Relaxing at Sushi Amor

A nice open lounge area up front - complete with sofas, big cushy pillows...

And a vibe that just begs for relaxation.

...

On to the food - and again, we had a winner.

No doubt - the sushi was delicious, but we decided to go with a special on the menu - ceviche, quite the popular dish throughout the Rich Coast.

Marinated in lime or lemon juice (and sometimes, even vinegar)...

Three-Part Ceviche Dinner at Nayara
Marlin, Tilapia and Tuna... Three-Part Ceviche Dinner

The citric acid - interacting with proteins, and stripping them of their natural qualities...

Help to give off a 'cooked' sensation, upon tasting.

And yes, as you can see in the photo above - we had our choice of three different kinds - marlin, tilapia, and tuna.

Yum!

...

Well next - more than satisfied, time spent at Sushi Amor...

It was back up top to our room...

Enjoying an evening of perfect solitude - champagne in hand, surrounded by the quiet sounds of the rainforest, and knowing off in the distance, right there in front of us...
